### DHH opens Rails World: convention over configuration is built for the agent era
September 23, 2026 · Community · 37signals

DHH said writing code by hand is now an exception at 37signals, where the team has gone "pencils down". He showed HEY being rebuilt as six native apps with an agent-written Rust backend, and closed on total optimism.

### Two resolv CVEs land in every current Ruby: patch to 0.7.2

### Rails open-sources lemans, the Ruby harness it uses to benchmark AI agents
August 24, 2026 · Product · Ruby on Rails
Vladimir Dementyev, Svyatoslav Kryukov and Artur Petrov built lemans with support from the Rails Foundation, replacing the Python tooling the team had been using with a Rails-native one. It runs agents against standard Rails tasks, sandboxes them in Daytona or Docker, and verifies results with hidden test files and filesystem snapshots so an agent cannot grade its own work. Now at github.com/rails/lemans, with the tasks and results at rails/ai-evals.

### Rails benchmarks eight AI models and finds that knowing Rails, not raw reasoning, separates them
August 13, 2026 · Product · Ruby on Rails
Svyatoslav Kryukov and Artur Petrov ran eight models against 21 atomic Rails tasks, three runs each, 504 runs total, drawn from real Writebook scenarios covering fixes, security, performance and features. No task named the Rails API it needed, so the test was whether a model reaches for the framework's own solution. Claude Opus 5 led on accuracy at 92%; GPT-5.6 Sol gave the best value at 84% for $0.52 and five minutes a task. Rails API recall ranged from 8% to 35%, and tracked the results more closely than general problem-solving did.
